Job Elements: -
• Development of manufacturing processes and procedures.
• Development of tooling, jigs, fixtures and equipment for production.
• Liaison with vendors to develop appropriate fixturing, tooling, gauging and test equipment for production
• Application of lean manufacturing to the production process.
• Ensuring production routes / times are correct and all manufacturing costs are monitored to provide data to support operational decisions.
• Conduct capability and viability studies in relation to the introduction of new processes and products.
• Leading process improvement and cost reduction activities through use of value engineering principles in line with site goals and objectives.
• Project management of changes to the production process.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Qualified to at least HNC level or equivalent in an engineering based discipline
• Extensive production / process engineering experience from within a manufacturing environment is essential.
• Experience implementing lean and continuous methodologies would be beneficial
• Manufacturing Industry background
• Knowledge of Quality tools, APQP, 8D, FMEA would be advantageous
