Carewatch (Cardiff and Newport) are offering a rewarding and enlightening position of Care/Support worker in the Newport area.
In this role, you will be making a significant difference in the lives of adults and children who require extra assistance to maintain the independent life they deserve. You will be building relationships and conversing with our service users, even when there may be communicative difficulties. You need to be hard-working, motivated and compassionate to enjoy and succeed in this rewarding role. You will need to be flexible and adaptable in your approach to work, and willing to help people with a variety of tasks, remaining conscientious and non-judgemental in your approach at all times.
The role may involve personal care tasks such as bathing, toileting and dressing. Other tasks might involve hair care and feeding. You may also be required to do some domestic tasks for the individual. The role could involve social care where you may be required to support the individual in the community with shopping, classes, or visits to the cinema or local café.
We would offer you the opportunity to achieve your QCF Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (formerly known as NVQ) after you have been working with us for 6 months, and a pay rise once the qualification has been awarded.
We provide you with a uniform and also have a loyalty scheme. Every successful applicant receives full induction training regardless of experience, and on-going specialist training throughout your employment depending on your service users needs.
It is essential that you have your own car for this role as we need you to travel to our service users’ homes quickly and efficiently, and sometimes support the service users in the community using your car. You would then need business class 1 on your insurance. We also pay a competitive rate for mileage.
Due to the nature of the role, you would need to undergo an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau police check.
