Job Elements: -
Our client is looking to improve the way that they handle export documentation and systems. The successful candidate will join the company initially on a 3-6 month contract and will be expected to “hit the ground running” bringing with them an in-depth knowledge of HMRC export systems and overseas controls. Starting from scratch you will be expected to review all systems in house and rapidly implement a program of improvements in order to increase profitability and to reduce shipping errors and delays. You will be a Subject Matter Expert in house covering the following list of examples:
• Proof of Export requirements (for VAT handling)
• Duty: -
o Application of Tariff Codes
o Commercial Value assigned to goods
o Carriage term implications
• US Controls
• Inter-company trading (Export Licencing Requirements)
• UK Export controls
• Movement of IT Equipment
• Movement of capital equipment
For each of the activities above, our client needs to:
• Introduce greater levels of awareness
• Introduce new procedures into the Quality System
• Deliver training as required
• Establish ownership of functions
• Ensure systems are effective and reporting in place
