ITN Mark Education is urgently looking to appoint an experienced ICT Technician for a pending long-term position within a reputable and well-established Secondary School in Cardiff. The position is to begin as soon as possible and will run beyond September, with a view to a permanent contract being offered.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in this field or within a similar capacity and have a proven track record of delivering and implementing relevant tasks and requirements. You will be joining a close-knit team with a structured support network within the IT department, and will be required to assist in the running of day-to-day duties.

Main Duties:

* Install new software and hardware.
* Set up equipment such as laptops, data projectors, interactive whiteboards, sound systems and other specialist ICT equipment, ensuring that systems are ready for use and operating correctly.
* Perform basic diagnostic routines.
* Develop a maintenance schedule for all computer hardware, software and networks, and ensure that it is followed.
* Manage the structure of the school intranet and internal systems
* Assist in planning and implementing changes to elements of the ICT service as required.
* Ensure routine safety checks, including electrical tests, are carried out and appropriate records maintained.
* Ensure the safe disposal of obsolete equipment, used consumables and waste materials in line with recognised procedures and legal requirements.
* Maintain an up‐to‐date inventory of ICT software and licences in school.
* Be responsible for an efficient stock control system and associated records.
* Order equipment and supplies to secure best value for goods and services.
* Support the full range of financial planning for ICT, including purchase of larger items and help to estimate future budget requirements.
* To work flexibly and undertake other duties of an equivalent nature that may be required by the head of the department from time to time.
